ISTEP Part II (multiple choice) begins a week from Monday!
We will be reviewing all week in all subjects
.


Students will have homework this weekend and next to keep concepts fresh!

Math: We’ll be reviewing: place value, computation with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions, diameter, radius, lines & angles, classifying shapes, perimeter & area, decimals & percents, coordinates on a plane, simple algebra AND story problems of all kinds.


Religion: We continue to celebrate Christ’s rising from the dead! Congratulations to Jarrod Hutchings (and his brother Clark) who officially became members of the Catholic Church on Saturday evening celebrating their Baptism and First Communion.


Reading: We have finished Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. We will have a test over the novel next week. Students will also be given their choice of projects to complete next week. We’ll get to watch the movie during the week of ISTEP.


English: We continue to have DOL each morning, write in our journals a couple times each week, and use grammar (identifying parts of speech, subject verb agreement, etc.) to improve our writing. Our final writing piece will be a small research paper on a famous figure from the Revolutionary War.


Vocab: Students will be assigned a writing assignment in which they will write a story correctly using 10 of the vocab words from Units 1-5.


Social Studies: Review of longitude and latitude, supply and demand, interpreting timelines, early cultures & settlements in North America, 13 Colonies and founding of the United States, and the structures of government and how it functions.
Test over Ch. 10: The Road to Independence will be during the latter part of next week.


Science: Students have been learning about the measurement- volume, length, temperature, time.

WALK-A-THON FUNDRAISER
** Students are bringing home their Walk-a-thon containers to collect money in. This collection is going on until May 7th. There are prizes for the top 3 fundraisers – including a new bike for winner. **
Money raised goes toward the athletic program at SJA.

Rosemary Bickel, Jalil Burrell-Fields, Sydney Graves & Jarrod Hutchings will participate in the Math Pentathalon Tournament at Ben Davis this Saturday. Good luck and have fun!!!
