Tuck Project

Tuck Everlasting Project

PROJECT IS DUE WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31st

Project is worth 25 points
Graded on: spelling, punctuation, grammar,
clarity (does it make sense?),
how thoroughly you answered the prompt

Creative Writing Options

1. Jesse’s Loss
At the end of the novel, Angus Tuck expresses his approval of Winnie’s decision not to drink the spring water. Do you think Jesse would completely agree with his father’s opinion? Think about how Jesse’s perspective might be different from the rest of his family’s. Do you think he stays in contact with Winnie after the jailbreak? What might he feel when the time for Winnie to drink the water has come and passed?

Write or type either a poem OR a journal entry (3-4 pragraphs) from Jesse’s point of view that examines the Tuck family’s encounter with Winnie and her eventual decision to embrace mortality.

2. Article
Pretend you are a journalist and you have just been informed of this news breaking story. Write or type an article about the jailbreak. Who was involved? Why and how did it happen? Who are your sources? What questions have been left unanswered?
Article must be 3-5 paragraphs long

Young Actor Option

1. Talk Show Host
Pretend you are a talk show host and invite a character from the novel to be a guest on your show. Ask challenging questions of your guest.

An introduction to this episode of your show, your questions and your responses (at least 5 questions with responses) must be written or typed out for submission.
You may choose someone to help you act out your project!
